A world-class mountain bike park has opened for business in NSW, offering challenges from 300-metre peaks to the spectacular forested foothills of the Sapphire Coast.
The Gravity Eden Mountain Bike Park lies in the Nullica State Forest on the southern coast of New South Wales and features more than 58km of trails.
The 20 different trails were completed in October, but more rainfall was required to bed in some routes before the official opening on 25 November.
When it rains it pours, however, and the torrential downpour that followed in late November and early December saw the park closed within four days of opening.
Volunteers and community members went to work clearing fallen trees, repairing damaged trails and conducting assessments.
The park was reopened again last week, but visitors are encouraged to check the Eden Mountain Bike Club Facebook page for the latest updates and advice on park etiquette.

The park's gravity-fed mountain bike trails are machine-built and single-track. They feature explosive descents, lush fern-filled valleys, cascading waterways, jumps, sweeping berms, natural rock features and bridge crossings.
All levels of ability are catered for and there is also a skills park at the main trailhead to help riders to build confidence.
"Gravity Eden represents not only an exceptional mountain biking destination but also a vibrant community collaboration," says Kristy McBain, Member for Eden-Monaro.
"We look forward to welcoming riders from near and far to experience the beauty and excitement of this new trail network."
