Major traffic changes are coming to the Douglas Parade, Simcock Avenue, Hyde Street junction just under the West Gate Bridge in Spotswood.
Riders on the busy route to Williamstown would be aware that for months traffic has been diverted to the east side of the road.
The Bay Trail West is along this route and many riders also use the road.
From the end of July until September, the lanes will be moved to the west side to accommodate works and the Trail will be subject to minor diversions at times.
The intersection of Simcock Avenue and Douglas Parade will be signalised as part of a new on ramp to the West Gate Freeway. Traffic signals will operate by the end of July.
Simcock Avenue will be closed west of Booker Street for work on the new West Gate ramp at the end of July.
Access to Spotswood will still be available via Hudson Street, where project construction trucks will be permitted,
Construction activities will take place 24/7 and require periodic road and lane closures.
Any further impacts to bike movements will be communicated in advance.
