Recall: Cranks blow fuse

Bike manufacturer, Specialized has recalled its 2018 alloy Fuse Comp mountain bike because of faulty crank arms.

The bike is fitted with Stout crank arms, an entry-level alloy cranks with a direct mount chainring for general mountain biking use.

Some of the cranks have not have been manufactured to specifications, which could result in the driveside crankarm disengaging while riding, resulting in risk of injury.

Consumers should stop using the affected bikes immediately and return them to their nearest authorised Specialized retailer for free installation of a new driveside replacement crankarm.

The model effected is the 2018 alloy Specialized Fuse Comp 6Fattie/29 that can switch between 29” wheels or 6Fattie wheels.

It was available for sale from 21 August 2017 - 4 May 2018 from authorised Specialized resellers.
