child seat recall
Recall: Child seat can crack

There is double trouble for owners of this cargo bike seat for two.

The seat and child restraint is designed to be fitted to the MK1-E Cargo Bike made by Butchers & Bicycles of Copenhagen.

The seat's plastic shell is too thin at the seat's mounting zone and may break.

If the plastic shell breaks, the seat may detach from the cargo box.

If the seat detaches from the cargo box, there is a risk of serious injury to the child or children in the seat and an increased risk of an accident.

Consumers should immediately stop using the child seat on their bicycle and contact the place of purchase to organise for repair, free of charge.

Affected consumers can contact Eurocycles on 1300 300 607 (Monday to Friday, 10am - 5pm AEST) or online@eurocycles.com.au

The product was sold nationally from July 2018 until December 2019.

Butcher & Bicycles say there have been three incidents where the seat has broken loose under heavy braking. No-one was injured. It discovered the mounting zone was thinner than specified. The repair kits now available inserts stainless steel rods for more strength at the mount.
