More cycleways to pop-up in Sydney

Sydney's pop-up cycleway scheme rolls on, with Stage 2 plans including over 20 kilometres of new bike lanes to encourage more riders to the streets amidst the lingering pandemic.

This comes after Sydney were the first to roll out pop-up bike lanes in response to COVID-19, which saw more people riding bikes and less people taking public transport.

The Stage 2 cycleways will provide safe passage through eight council areas: Bayside, City of Sydney, Inner West, North Sydney, Parramatta, Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra, as shown on the maps below.

Todman Avenue, Randwick
High Street, Randwick

While all of these important new bike links will provide safe transport alternative and free up space on public transport and roads, they are of course temporary — with the city promising to consult communities before anything becomes permanent.
