Victorian bike riders looking the make the most of relaxed coronavirus restrictions are being asked not to ride to the Dandenongs.
The area is still recovering from June storms, with roads covered in debris and fallen trees. Emergency services are continuing work to clean up and restore power to residents, with many heavy vehicles in use.
Some roads remain closed while clean up and repairs continue. You can see the current status of roads at vicroads.vic.gov.au.
There are plenty of other road riding routes you can enjoy while we let the Dandenongs recover. Mount Pleasant is open for business and we're willing to bet that the Boulevard will be pumping.
Perhaps you could also head out for a casual ride with family or friends and check out one of Melbourne's great trails, such as the Maribyrnong River Trail or Gardiners Creek.
Our thoughts are with all the Dandenongs and Yarra Ranges people who are dealing with the aftermath of the storms and we look forward to riding with you when we can.
