The work shouldn’t interfere with your ability to access either of the paths.
New MTB trails for kunanyi foothills
There’s one day left to make comment on new mountain trails proposed for the foothills of kunanyi/Mt Wellington.
The Rocky Wheel’n and Free Wheel’n trails would close the gap in the network between Bracken Lane fire trail and Shoobridge Bend, allowing riders to access the North South Track from Fern Tree or South Hobart, with one being dual direction for walkers/runners and MTB uphill and the other as a MTB only downhill.
While the new Skid Road trail will connect the Main Fire and Middle Island Fire trails and provide access for all users and MTB riders uphill only, so that the informal Upper Luge trail can be converted to a downhill MTB track only.
The plans are PLN-21-302 at 100 Pinnacle Rd, Mt Wellington and can be found at https://apply.hobartcity.com.au/CurrentlyAdvertised – you can fill out an online form to make your representation https://www.hobartcity.com.au/Development/Planning/Representations or email it by 11.59 pm to representation@hobartcity.com.au
