After a long, dark and wet winter – it’s time to get outside and relish getting active in the warm spring air. And what better way to feel your best than by pedalling your bike, all while raising money for the fight against the Beast that is Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
You’ll feel great inside and out while making every pedal stroke count as part of the FightMND 27 Challenge.
From 27 September to the 27 November, set yourself a bike riding goal (or any physical activity goal) that incorporates the number 27 and join a community of Australians that are getting active in the fight to find a cure for MND.
Regardless of your fitness, age or ability - there are plenty of ways to get creative and have some fun. You could:
- Ride 27 laps of your favourite circuit or hill,
- Ride your first 27kms or set your sights on 270kms,
- Ride to work or school 27 days in a row,
- Ride 27 mins every day or;
- Pedal continuously for 27 hours!
Why 27?
27 months is the average life expectancy of a person living with MND.
MND is a Beast. It’s a terminal, neurological disease that gradually takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, eat and ultimately breath.
There is no effective treatment or cure – yet! But with your help, we can change this.
All funds raised through the FightMND 27 Challenge are invested in cutting-edge MND research (such as clinical trials and drug development projects) as well as care to improve the lives of people living with MND, now and in the future.
