Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following the death of a bike rider in Bangholme last Friday.
A 37-year-old Cranbourne East man has been charged with numerous offences including dangerous driving causing death and failing to render assistance.
He has been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 22 May.
Police allege a vehicle struck the rider and then left the scene on Frankston-Dandenong Road, north of Thompsons Road.
The rider was located by passers-by on the side of the road shortly before 6am.
The 68-year-old Dandenong man was declared deceased at the scene.
