DA marks the way for Wynyard-Cooee path

The coastal pathway has reached an exciting milestone: Burnie City Council is lodging a development application for the section between Cam River and Cooee.

You can view the pathway plans and comment on the council's website before Wednesday 17 May.

When the development application is approved, the council will put the work out to tender. Works are expected to start this September.

Cycleway to close for two days

The Intercity Cycleway between Cornelian Bay and the Botanical Gardens car park will be shut between 9.30am and 3pm on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 May.

The City of Hobart will use a boom lift to cut back trees along the path and will need to close it while works take place.

Unfortunately, there is no obvious detour if you are already on the cycleway. The Park–Letitia–Campbell/Argyle streets routes are road options to get in and out of town, but these are steeper than the cycleway.

Glenorchy MTB trails closed

A reminder that the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park at the top of Tolosa Street is closed while the trail network is being rebuilt. The end of the North–South Track will also be closed from Five Ways.

Fire trails throughout Wellington Park are open, so please get off the North–South Track at Five Ways and make your way out via the fire trails.

Wellington Park rangers will patrol the area and issue on-the-spot fines of $271.50 to people riding on closed trails.
