North-West Bay River Track open
We checked out the new North West Bay track in Kingborough Council last week and it's a great option for MTB riders or riders wanting an introduction to rugged touring.
If you are not either of those kinds of riders but want to check it out, be aware that it's quite bumpy, the river crossings are slippery and tree roots have been exposed by recent slashing works.

The first stage will be to upgrade the Acton Road intersection with lights, followed by potential road widening and a bypass of Rokeby.

Hobart Council ticks off on Battery Point, Lenah Valley plans
Hobart City Council has approved final local area mobility plans for Battery Point and Lenah Valley, which include a separated cycleway on Augusta Road and Battery Point Walkway.
The Lenah Valley plan includes a separated cycleway on Augusta Road as its priority project. Other projects listed but not prioritised include connecting the Giblin and Forster streets bike lanes and upgrading them to separated lanes, a separated lane on Creek Road, separated lanes on New Town Road and four streets nominated for traffic calming.
The Battery Point plan notes the walkway as one of its cycling projects, along with better on-road route connections through the suburb.
