The City of Sydney is proposing changes that will allow bike riders to travel in the opposite direction to cars on some one-way streets.
The City of Sydney is planning to allow two-way bike traffic on 159 suitable one-way streets across 24 suburbs.
These changes have previously been implemented on 40 of Sydney's one-way streets, which have provided safe and effective low-traffic routes for riders to avoid busy roads.
This would apply to streets in the following suburbs:
- Beaconsfield
- Camperdown
- Chippendale
- Darlinghurst
- Darlington
- Elizabeth Bay
- Erskineville
- Eveleigh
- Forest Lodge
- Glebe
- Haymarket
- Newtown
- Paddington
- Potts Point
- Pyrmont
- Redfern
- Rosebery
- Rushcutters Bay
- Surry Hills
- Sydney
- Ultimo
- Waterloo
- Wooloomooloo
