With international travel coming back, keen travellers to Singapore will be pleased to know that you can now ride a bike right out of the airport and towards the city, with the new 3.5km park connector.
The connector is a shared user path that is linked to all 4 airport terminals and Jewel Changi Airport. Bicycles can be rented from GoCycling, which is situated within Hub & Spoke Café at the airport’s Terminal 2.
Along the way, you might just encounter some prehistoric friends, as the connector also hosts the city’s largest permanent outdoor display of life-sized dinosaurs, aptly named the Changi Jurassic Mile, which makes for an interesting and Instagram worthy pit stop.
The connector will lead towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP), a 15-km stretch of beach which will bring you to the famed Gardens by the Bay. The ECP is also synonymous with sporty outdoor activities, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and activity centres dotting the park.
The new Singapore airport corridor serves as inspiration for what could be achieved across Australian cities. Active transport thoroughfares could be a healthy travel option for airport staff, recreational riders and even patrons.
